Before you start
apisapp gives every WhatsApp number its own HTTP API. Anything you would do in WhatsApp Web, like sending a message, reading a chat, seeing receipts or downloading media, you do here over HTTPS.
1. Create an account
Create an account with your email and confirm it from the link we send you.
2. Add a number
In the portal, open Numbers and choose Add a number. Give it a name you will recognise, like "Sales line", and enter your coupon code.
3. Link the phone
Right after adding, the portal shows a QR code. On the phone with that number:
- Open WhatsApp (or WhatsApp Business).
- Tap ⋮ or Settings, then Linked devices.
- Tap Link a device and scan the code.
The number's status changes to Connected. A phone can have up to 4 linked devices; if linking fails, remove an old one in WhatsApp first.
If the device is later removed on the phone, or WhatsApp logs it out, the number does not reconnect by itself: its status shows Needs re-pairing, API calls return 503, and a tenant.connection_changed webhook event fires. Open the number in the portal and choose Reconnect to scan a new QR code.
4. Get your access details
Open the number's page in the portal. You need two values:
| Value | Where | Example |
|---|---|---|
| API URL | API URL row, with a copy button | https://api.api-supp.com |
| API token | API token row → Create new token | wat_… |
The token is shown only once, right after you create it. Copy it into your app's settings straight away. Creating a new token stops the old one immediately, so use it if a token ever leaks.
5. Send your first message
Every call goes to https://api.api-supp.com/v1/… with your token in the Authorization header:
curl -X POST "https://api.api-supp.com/v1/messages" \
-H "Authorization: Bearer wat_YOUR_TOKEN" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"recipient": "14155550132", "message": "Hello from apisapp"}'Next: Send a text message, or set up a webhook to receive replies.
